3. Is the JSAP a computer-based test?

The Junior Secondary Aptitude Placement Test (JSAP) is available in two administration formats to meet the needs and resources of different schools.

a. On-Line Computer-Based Test (CBT)
In this format, candidates take the examination remotely in school setting using desktop computers, laptops, or tablets. Student responses are captured digitally and processed through the JSAP assessment system, enabling efficient scoring, report generation, and result analysis.

b. Paper-Based Test (OMR based)
For schools that do not yet have adequate computer facilities or that prefer the traditional approach, the JSAP is also available in a paper-based format. Candidates answer printed question booklets using specially designed answer sheets, which are subsequently processed and scored using the JSAP assessment system.

Both versions assess the same competencies, use the same standardized questions and scoring procedures, and produce equivalent reports. This flexibility enables schools to choose the administration format that best aligns with their technological resources while maintaining the same high standards of quality, fairness and reliability.

The only difference is the mode of administration. Schools may choose the format that best suits their available facilities and operational preferences.
