8. What makes the JSAP different from a school examination?

School examinations measure achievement (what students have learned) whereas JSAP measures aptitude (their natural abilities, reasoning skills, and potential for future success). The test goes beyond measuring what students have already learned. Instead, it assesses the underlying abilities that predict future success in different academic and vocational pathways.

JSAP Test identifies inherent abilities—offering a clearer indication of appropriate academic subject areas or inclination towards vocational/technical education or training in which students are most likely to excel after Junior Secondary School. This approach minimizes misplacement, helps reduce academic frustration and enhances student engagement by enabling them to learn within pathways that align with their strengths and interest.
